Campaign Statements:
Regardless of how much the economy changes, we need to address health care access, cost and
quality. Unfortunately, the current legislature has been unable to accomplish that goal. My experience providing care to my patients for 18 years combined with health care policy work for 15 years has given me the vision to solve this plaguing problem. Cost effective providers like Physician Assistants have been utilized for decades, but their savings have generally contributed to profit margins rather than being passed through to patients.
I intend to introduce legislation to enable greater utilization of mid-level providers. The cost savings will then be realized directly by the patients. The legislation will be a market based solution within the bounds of the Constitution, with no tax increases.
