I rarely find anything useful in the words of talk show host and Bush apologist, Laura Ingraham, but I think she made a valid point, albeit in a slightly cynical way, at a recent "conservative" conference concerning the 2008 Presidential election. The following is an excerpt of a WorldNetDaily report on what she had to say:
“At a Friday night panel on the state of conservatism, commentator Laura Ingraham argued that Republicans -- if they are to have any chance of winning in 2008 -- must wake up to the fact that Democrats are embracing politicians such as Sen. James Webb (Va.), a gruff military veteran who delivered his party's response to the State of the Union on Tuesday by attacking President Bush's Iraq plan while offering a populist economic message.”
"We have to be careful with conservatives not to remain in an echo chamber," Ingraham said. "The party that comes off as the party that represents the American worker best is the party that wins in 2008."
While she seems to be concerned about how the Republican Party "comes off" rather than what it actually stands for, she has a point: "the party that represents the American worker is the party that wins in 2008."
American working people should, however, ask themselves this question:
How can any party that refuses to secure our borders to stop the invasion of illegal aliens and that supports a "guest worker" (amnesty) program; that has supported a series of trade agreements which have destroyed millions of jobs in American industry; whose trade policies has given us the worst trade deficit in U.S. history; and that supports tax benefits and subsidies for corporations who move their factories out the the U.S. and who outsource their labor to foreign nations, ever be viewed as a party that represents the American worker?
The fact is that both of the "Big Box" Parties, Republican and Democrat, have been guilty of selling-out the American working people for many, many years!
There is only one political party in the United States that truly represents the best interests of the American working people- THE CONSTITUTION PARTY! Let's make sure that all Americans have a real choice in 2008, by working hard to build the Constitution Party in 2007!
